The Aug. 24th workday was a faily productive workday.  Although there is still plenty to
get done Don't forget, if all members are required to make 2 of the 3 workdays
(excluding new members).  If you missed this one, you need to attend the next one
on September 28, 2002.

The Chufa planted seems to be a favorite for the turkeys
The first picture is Chufa the Turkeys haven't found yet.  The second two show
turkeys scratchings where the turkeys have devoured the Chufa.
The club has been in a severe drought condition for most of the late spring and early
summer, but got 1" to 2" of rain in the last two weeks.
We have found something that might actually work for food plots (so long as it gets some rain)

The tall stuff is cowpeas, and the short stuff is Alyceclover.
There's no telling what it would look like if it hadn't been hit with a 1 1/2 month drought.

There was a good turnout at the meeting.  A few rules were changed.

1.  The fine of $5/lb for does under 80lbs. will have a $50 max. this year.

2.  All children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
and must have some type of head protection while riding four-wheelers.

At the meeting the following workdays have been set:
Aug. 24, 2002 and Sept. 28, 2002.

The annual BBQ was set for Nov. 9, 2002.

All members are invited to the dove shoot this year to be held on the
first day of dove season.  Roughly $200 will be divided between
those participating to pay for seed and fertilizer planted in the spring.

Big Ralph Crowe was elected to the board, replacing Lee Williams.

Everett McBryde bought new tracking collars and tracking unit for the dogs.
A raffle will be held to reimburse Everett.  Extra money will go to the club.
Descriptions for the raffle will be determined at a later date.
